Aerotek NPI CNC Machinist in RALEIGH, North Carolina
Description:
Works from drawings, 3D CAD models, and programs developed by CNC Programmers.
Set up and inspect the first article parts.
Use basic measurement tools to verify parts to customer drawings and 3D CAD models.
Learn and utilize advanced inspection systems such as the Keyence vision system.
Solve technical machining problems to yield conforming products.
Work with CNC Programmers to develop sustainable and efficient machining programs.
Work with QC inspectors to troubleshoot nonconforming conditions.
Establish effective setup procedures and assist in creating work instructions for future production runs.
Change cutting tools and location of workpieces during the machining process.
Makes necessary adjustments to set-ups during the course of operations to maintain accurate production.
Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions.
Run multiple CNC machines.
Utilize manual machines to manufacture parts to drawing and CAD model.
Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
Overtime may be requested or required based on need.
Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management/Maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ CNC setup experience.
Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Efficient in manual machining (Mills, Lathes, Grinders).
Efficient at and general knowledge of G-code programming.
Mandatory 4th axis machining experience.
Prototyping and first piece development experience.
Familiarity with HAAS controls.
Efficient in common and complex metrology. Including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints.
