Siemens Energy Lead Integration & Testing Engineer Control & Protection HVDC in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Integration & Test Engineer for HVDC Control & Protection you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to craft and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new transient network analysis laboratory located in Raleigh.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Collaboration with the Sub Project Manager and the project engineers, as well as Plant Infrastructure teams

  • Analysis of the customer specification with focus on the technical requirements on the hardware in view of the variations from our standard, the feasibility, and the vital tests

  • Management of the software engineering and test cycle including quality gate reviews, programmed management and coordination activities

  • Driving design related topics from early software concept development through manufacturing, parametrization, testing and customer acceptance

  • Ensuring the delivery of a functional hardware and software solution which follows the contractual requirements to the customer.

What You Bring

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years, validated experience in substation design, testing, and commissioning

  • 3+ years of experience in control and protection systems for HVDC systems as well as experience in project management

  • Good knowledge in AC Protection Hardware and Software engineering and testing as well as in Siprotec product family, IEC 61850, and cyber security.

  • Expertise in the management of software development lifecycles using LEAN and AGILE techniques.

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to actively drive topics and resolve issues as well as solid stakeholder management and communication skills.
