TEKsystems IT QA Analyst in Raleigh, North Carolina
Our client - a non-profit focused on provides services and programs for the insurance industry in North Carolina for automobile, property and workers compensation - seeks an IT QA analyst to join their team for key 2023 initiatives. The IT QA Analyst's role is to maintain quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization. This individual will maintain the QA testing methodology and ensure that the methodology is followed by all parties testing on behalf of the organization, including tracking all defects for accurate metrics. This individual will act as the liaison for User Acceptance tester(s) and vendors, when appropriate. They will also be responsible for writing and executing test plans and test cases for regression and integration testing for existing systems. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities: Collaboration: • Liaise and educate internal user acceptance testers throughout User Acceptance Test (UAT) cycle; including: educating them on QA best practices, mentoring them to write test cases and managing the UAT test cycle while they test. Communications: • Document all problems/issues according to methodology. Knowledge/Development: • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices. • Maintain an understanding in technologies & methodologies appropriate to the project (s) assigned. Productivity/Quantity: • Conduct/Execute test plans/cases in order to discover and report defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues and interoperability flaws. • Document and execute regression (including integration) test plans and test cases for existing systems. • Execute regression testing as changes are made to systems or environments. • Manage, analyze and communicate test progress, test results, statistics, metrics and other relevant testing information to project manager and project stakeholders. Quality: • Develop and document test plans and test plan/cases for system testing to ensure applications meet business requirements. • Provide assistance, when needed, with regression testing applications after server hardware or software upgrades or assists System Testing with identification of appropriate risk or target areas for change impact to develop appropriate regression test plans. • Deliver quality work, with attention to detail for all tasks. Responsibility/Quantity: • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the organization's Software Development Life Cycle. • Maintain QA/testing methodologies and processes. • When appropriate, liaise with vendors to ensure that the organizations methodology is being followed (including oversight of test plan and test cases). • Assist with defect management system set up. Work Management/Organization/Planning: • Facilitate/manage problems through to final resolution. • Manage, configure and maintain the appropriate defect tracking software. • Oversee the User Acceptance Testing cycle, continuing to manage problems through to final resolution. • Effectively keep track of, prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner. • Manage multiple priorities and to adapt to constantly changing priorities. • Respond to 2nd and 3rd level support issues in a timely and professional manner to both internal and external customers. • Work independently and with the application development team to maintain and support the organization's custom built systems.
