Siemens Energy IT / OT & Cyber Security Engineer Control & Protection HVDC in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As an IT/OT & Cyber Security Engineer for HVDC Systems you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to design and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new transient network analysis laboratory located in Raleigh.

You will work with the Engineering Manager – HVDC C&P and will be required to provide engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide Project Engineering "IT Security" for HVDCcontrol & protection systems (Development & Implementation of IT -security concepts based on international standards for control systems of HVDCplants)

  • Create and maintain of project specific technicalspecifications, documents &manuals.

  • Clarification of IT-security concepts with internal departments and externalsuppliers and customers.

  • Plan and conduct project-specific IT-security audits,threat-risk workshops, and penetration tests, including evaluation ofcountermeasures.

  • System integration and commissioning of the specificcomponents (e.g. firewalls) in the test lab (Verification of proper rulesettings and hardening measures).

  • Conduct/ support Factory Acceptance Tests with sub suppliersand customers.

  • Provide technical support during commissioning phases.

What You Bring

  • BS Degree in electrical engineering or IT networking /communication technology.

  • Several years of work experience in the area of IT securityfor industrial networks (Requirements, Plan/ conduct audits, etc.).

  • Experience in project engineering, customer clarification,working in complex teams.

  • Understanding for SCADA systems as part of energytransmission system (Substations, etc.).

  • Theoretical know-how of TCP/IP, routing, switching, networkseparation, zone concepts, etc.

  • Configuration of Switches, routers, firewalls frommanufacturer CISCO, Rugged Com, Checkpoint, etc.

  • IT Security for IT networks, regulations and hardeningmeasures to fulfill the same

  • Security standards (NERC-CIP, BDEW)

  • Security of IT components, networks and applications intheory (Threat analysis) and practice (penetration testing)

  • Fluent in English

  • Willingness to travel on business and abroad to deliver thesystem to the customer.
