ManpowerGroup IT Command Center - Mainframe Operator in Raleigh, North Carolina

Title : IT Command Center

Location: Raleigh, NC (Must be willing to work onsite, Remote flexibility is earned over time)

Type : 6 month Contract (likely to extend, possible to convert)

Day Shift “Panama Schedule”

  • Week 1: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on

  • Week 2: 2 off, 2on, 3 off

  • Every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday you are off. Week 1 is 48 hours, Week 2 is 36 hours based on pay periods.

  • May consider “floater” role MKF depending on qualifications

Skillsets: Control-M/Batch Scheduling, Some mainframe, Datacenter Operations, Datacenter Infrastructure, Incident Management

We are looking for a strong candidate with extensive experience in Command Center Operations with Control-M (or other batch scheduling application) and Mainframe z/OS experience.


This position provides advanced operational support within the Bank's Command Center. Monitors and operates the Mainframe, Batch Schedules, ATMs, Network, and open systems to facilitate ongoing functionality and efficiency. Ensures online network, operation, and batch production schedules are continuously met. Responds to Tier 2 monitored events, incidents, and reported issues. Supports the assigned shift by facilitating workflow, performing validation duties, overseeing hardware and software resources, and reducing operational risk. Provides technical assistance to Information Technology support staff and business personnel both inside and outside of normal operating hours. May provide guidance to less experienced associates in the work group.

Responsibilities

  • Batch Processing - Monitors batch production job restarts, holds, submissions, releases, ordering, and analysis. Researchs, resolves, and escalates abnormal terminations. Monitors enterprise critical path batch schedule and reports accordingly.

  • Issue Resolution - Works closely with end users, vendors, and other involved parties in resolving incidents or escalating complex issues to the appropriate parties. Reports, tracks, and updates all issues.

  • Mainframe support – IPLs, CICS and Substation recycles, System Message handling, Mainview monitoring. Reports and escalates system anomalies.

  • Branch Support - Supports branch-related outages and incidents involving networks and ATMs. Facilitates maximum network availability and efficient operations for Bank branches through a variety of daily Command Center tasks.

  • Corporate Support - Responsible for monitoring and resolution or escalation of outages for Bank services and applications. Facilitates vendor access within systems and networks. Controls computer room security, and supports monitoring tools and alerts. Assists in maintaining service management documentation and in support efforts for system mainframe. Performs application lifecycle management validations on a number of tools and scripts.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in Computer Operations and Mainframe systems

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in: Information Technology

  • Preferred Area of Experience: Batch scheduling, Mainframe support, Distributed platform support, Networking, ATM support

  • Skill(s): Knowledge of IBM Mainframe and Open Systems, Operates all computer equipment at a centralized data center, Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a rotating basis

  • Control-M experience, Mainframe experience, particularly with z/OS, ServiceNow or similar ticketing experience, incident management experience.
