Required Skills:

Enterprise Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Help build the next generation of back-end enterprise system components and assets to power Meta’s core products.

  2. Leverage undergraduate-level knowledge of computer science and software engineering to build highly scalable back-end software using programming languages such as C/C++, Java, PHP, and Hack (Meta’s internal programming language).

  3. Leverage undergraduate-level knowledge of algorithms and object-oriented programming and apply that knowledge to building software components with support and guidance from direct supervisor.

  4. Apply given technical solutions to enterprise systems problems, and ensure uninterrupted maintenance of data integrity, data compliance, and system stability.

  5. Draw upon specialty knowledge of data storage, synchronization of large server clusters, and development of runtime environments for front-end code to build back-end software components for use across all of Meta’s infrastructure applications.

  6. Utilize programming languages such as C/C++, Java, PHP, and Hack to build back-end platforms for Meta’s web and mobile applications.

  7. Write back-end code and programs for enterprise systems and application features in Hack, Meta’s internal programming language.

  8. Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming, and of systems architecture and components, including networking and storage.

  9. Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Analytics, or a related field and 12 months of experience in job offered or in a related occupation. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:

    1. Python, PHP, or Haskell
    1. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction
    1. Designing scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees
    1. Applying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real world systems as evidenced by recognizing and matching patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems.

Public Compensation:

$210,620/year to $234,630/year + bonus + equity + benefits
