UNC Health Care Director Network Development and Physician Relations in Raleigh, North Carolina

The System Director of Network Development and Physician Relations reports to the HCS Executive Director Network Development & Physician Relations. They are responsible for leading regional development activities across affiliated and non-affiliated facilities and physician groups. Responsible for assuring access, service and outreach to referring providers and physician practices in local communities as well as across North Carolina.


  1. Assures access, customer service and outreach to referring physicians and transferring facilities. Oversees daily customer service and issue resolution for referring physician practices and members of medical staff at affiliated facilities.

  2. Collaborates with market research in development activities. Identifies, develops and implements outreach clinics and ambulatory sites.

    1. Directs physician outreach and network development activities across affiliated and nonaffiliated facilities and physician groups. Leads referral generation initiatives at affiliated facilities.
  3. Strengthens and manages relationships with hospitals and providers to identify, evaluate and develop new partnerships consistent with the goals and mission of UNC Health Care.

  4. Supports mergers and acquisitions as well as integration of new facilities and physician practices. Supports key service line growth and development planning in alignment with the UNC Health Care strategic plan.

    1. Works collaboratively with executives and serves as a liaison to executives and senior leaders within affiliated and un-affiliated facilities.

Education Requirements:

● Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

● No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements:

● If a Master’s degree: Seven (7) years of relevant work experience, including five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role.

● If a Bachelor's degree: Eleven (11) years of relevant work experience, including five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

● Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. Demonstrated expertise in the development of trusting relationships.
