Job Description

Are you interested in creating database services for an industry-leading developer cloud? The Intel cloud services team within the Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG) is developing and shaping the way people think about computing by focusing on developers, ecosystem partners, and academia. We are redefining the space with cutting-edge cloud services which leverage our portfolio of industry-leading SW and HW.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to innovate and create new database services and be part of a dedicated team who is responsible for all aspects of product delivery. Are you ready to join us?

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain database services in a cloud environment.

  • Design, develop and maintain APIs and microservices to provision and manage database services.

  • Ensure the security and compliance of database services, adhering to industry best practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to database services.

  • Collaborate with technologists and services teams across Intel to implement solutions.

An ideal candidate would exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in teams.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related degree and 8+ years of experience -OR- a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 6+ years of experience in:

5+ years' experience in below areas:

  • Designing and operating cloud database services

  • Open-source databases (Postgres, Cassandra, Maria, etc)

  • Designing and operating distributed databases (replication, scaling up, scaling out)

  • Design and development of APIs and microservices

  • Kubernetes and management of resources using Helm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming languages (Go, Python, etc.)

  • Infrastructure as code (Ansible)

  • CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $186,552.00-$279,772.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
