Job Information

Certara USA, LLC Senior Product Designer in Radnor, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 1882 Overview

What we are trying to solve Over the next year, one of our team's highest priority projects is building out Certara Cloud, a suite of products. Think of it as Adobe Cloud for clinical trials. Our products are used in clinical trials, which require work from several different departments. These departments work in silos. You, a seasoned product designer, may have experienced siloed departments at your current or earlier company where Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and QA work without ever consulting each other. Only when they hit a roadblock do they reach out. The large gap in feedback results in less quality and efficiency. The same thing happens with clinical trials, but we want that to change. Our road-map is in place, the software is in development, the UI Design Library is set up, and our Design System is built. Now we need to expand our team of product designers. This is where you enter. The work is challenging because we are uniting separately developed software into a single platform. Also, our product teams have varied experience working with Product Designers. Responsibilities

What you will be doing As part of the Product Design Team, reporting to the Principal Product Designer, you will help flesh out user stories with your insightful questions and constructive feedback. You will play a leading role in translating those stories into user experience solutions through mock-ups and prototypes. You will use existing work-flows or introduce scalable new ones. You will work closely with engineers as they uncover edge cases or technical roadblocks and suggest and/or make design changes on the fly. At times, you will design graphics that enforce our brand for the product, help content, or for internal or client-facing events (conferences, parties, etc.). You will find gaps and redundancies as our Design System evolves and advocate for its adoption across the company. In return, you will learn a ton about the unique challenges we have in the life science industry. You will work alongside an incredibly talented team of product managers, designers, and developers. You will enjoy a challenging but autonomous environment that allows you to manage ownership of multiple projects. Most importantly, your work will help bring medicines, like the COVID-19 vaccines, to the public faster, cheaper, and with fewer side effects. Qualifications
