Radford City Public Schools Assistant Superintendent/Title IX Coordinator in Radford, Virginia

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as Superintendents Designee.
  2. Coordinate/supervise PK-12 instructional programs. Works with superintendent, directors, and principals to monitor SOL instruction. Coordinates SOL curriculum alignment, including STEM.
  3. Assist school principals with planning and implementing effective instructional programs.
  4. Assist principals and other personnel with maintaining school accreditation.
  5. Assist the human resources department in determining staff allocations and recommendations of qualified candidate for open positions.
  6. Serve as the Title IX Coordinator.
  7. Serve as the division Comprehensive Instructional Program (CIP) contact.
  8. Supervise staff development as required by the Appropriations Act, Standards of Quality (SOQ) and Standards of Accreditation. Ensures compliance with SOQ regulations.
  9. Coordinate staff attendance at meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  10. Assist in coordinating and managing the flow of information within the division.
  11. Collect data, complete reports, and handle correspondence pertaining to the general administration of the school division.
  12. Coordinate and follow through on Virginia Department of Education directives including improvement plans
  13. Develop and implement, with principals, all after school as well as summer school instructional
  14. Work collaboratively with central office staff.
  15. Serve as supervisor of school counselors and related activities.
  16. Create and implement new teacher development including new teacher mentors.
  17. Coordinate and implement academic review if necessary.
  18. Maintain academic/instructional website for teachers.
  19. Coordinate the Title IV federal grant including application, budget development and implementation.
  20. Conference with parents/guardians of students and resolves concerns.
  21. Effectively communicate with staff, families, students, and the community.
  22. Maintain records and oversee the preparation of state and federal reports and other reports as requested by the Division Superintendent.
  23. Manage staff development for professional growth.
  24. Supervise the gifted program.
  25. Follow all school division rules, regulations, and policies as well as state and federal laws.
  26. Other duties as assigned by the Division Superintendent including, but not limited to initiatives.

Minimum Training and Experience

Masters degree from an accredited college or university.

Possesses strong interpersonal skills. Successful experience as a principal and classroom teacher is preferred.


Primary Location Radford City School Board Salary Range $92,000.00 - $130,003.00 / Per Year Shift Type Full-Time
