JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The Youth Employment Program is a hiring for a Marketing and Outreach Internfor the City of Racine Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department. The Youth Employment Program is a hub for innovative internship and employment opportunities within the City of Racine. Under the direction of the Recreation Specialist: Marketing, Special Events & Facilities Manager this individual will assist with implementing the department\'s marketing,social media content, volunteer programs, public outreach events and special events/fundraisers. This is a funded position. Guaranteed through 12/21/2024. Continuation is possible and dependent on productionThis position is 90% in-office and will include some evenings and weekends for events and content creation. Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Creatively markets department programs and information through various media forms, speaking engagements, community interaction and other means. Assists with coordinating the layout of department webpage, newsletter, program booklet, brochures and flyers. Oversee PRCS related social media accounts and graphics including the North Beach Facebook page Comfortable and confident with attending and speaking at community events to educate the community on PRCS programs and opportunities Build community partnerships with residents, local schools and organizations. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Current Student attending accredited two- or four-year university OR recent graduate within the last 2 years majoring/majored in marketing, graphic design, communications, or a related field. 6 months experience with social media, marketing or community outreach projects. Experience creating and editing videos preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Passionate about the City of Racine and our community Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Marketing Software (i.e. Canva) Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deal with the public in an effective and tactful manner. Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation interests and activities in the community. Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain an effective work environment.
