This is a Job Description for an Armed Security Officer: Part -- Time with a company in Quitman, Mississippi.

Summary: This job provides security for patients, guests and employees as assigned, enforces company policies and procedures, and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities: Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property. Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company. Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner. Performs safety and security related duties as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned. Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills. Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Other related duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications[]{#Hlk142289191}[]{#Hlk142304825}: Required: High School diploma or equivalent.  Required: 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military. Preferred: Previous experience or is presently, an armed police officer with a Louisiana or Federal Law Enforcement Agency (reserve status is acceptable) and has had arrest power and been assigned in an active law enforcement capacity. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report. Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training. International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire. Preferred: Completion of Certified Police Officer of Standard Training Policy Academy (state, federal, or military). Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification or Military Police equivalent.
