Shift: Mid Shift 7:00am - 5:00pm; Monday through Thursday. (Overtime when necessary.)

SUMMARY

This position will work closely with company leadership to provide Maintenance and EHS support to our United Alloy Great River facility in Quincy, IL.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • MAINTENANCE

  • Follows instructions on maintenance tickets to perform PMs in a timely manner.

  • Understands and adheres to UAI 5S manufacturing practices.

  • Mastered use of all required equipment and hand devices.

  • Can perform all preventative maintenance on all equipment.

  • Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected.

  • Coordinate with outside vendors, service provides, and contractors as needed

  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.

  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.

  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines and cranes.

  • Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures

  • Oversees general building maintenance repairs and services

  • Coordinate outside services for lawn care and snow removal.

  • Responsible for alerting Operation team of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.

  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines

  • Responsible for the creation and completion of all maintenance service requests

  • Other duties as assigned

  • EHS DUTIES

  • Assist with company’s safety programs, standards, and procedures to help protect employees against injury and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Facilitate weekly Safety Committee meetings and manage action items.

  • Assist with training activities.

  • Review and update Lockout/Tagout procedures.

  • Perform audits, risk assessments, & Job hazard analysis to identify and mitigate risk to employees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING OR WE'D LIKE TO SEE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

  • Electro-Mechanical OR Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health degree preferred.

  • Experience in Maintenance and/or EHS required.

  • Must be familiar with metal fabrication concepts and processes.

  • Must have experience with maintenance of fabrication equipment.

  • Detail oriented, with exceptional problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment to include Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Basic computer and ERP knowledge for looking up SRO’s, P.O. requests, and closing maintenance ticket SRO’s

  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.

  • Ability to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out detailed and written oral instructions.

  • Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements.

  • Frequently required to work on equipment that may contain live electrical parts, high pressure vessels/piping and spring-loaded apparatuses. Ability to read, comprehend and implement lock-out tag-out procedures is required.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
