Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities and authority

▪ Serve as leader, trainer, and mentor to Materials Planning organization (Supervisors of Materials Planning, Material Analysts, Launching Planners, etc.)

▪ Supervise the overall Master Production Scheduling 0-3 months firm, utilizing Kinaxis RapidResponse tool, and aligned with the established timing of the S&OP (SIOP) process.

▪ Analyze with the MPS the Value Stream load (machine, tool, labor / Hrs.-Recovery) of the Plant in the short- to midterm horizon (from week 3-13 of the planning horizon), escalate Red Work Centers with Demand / ISC departments, and propose resource allocations regarding the customer demand variations.

▪ Monitor and analysis of material Purchase Orders / Sched. Agreements (Purchased Parts, Raw Material, Semi-Finished and/or manufactured parts) to cover requirements and support customer demand, maintaining Inventory levels within target.

▪ Review Standard Works, ensuring the team execution of exception codes (messages) in system (example: 10, 15 and 20) for planned purchase orders or pending approvals, since they indicate a situation (Purchase Orders Placement, Changes and/or Cancellations) that need an action to prevent Inventory Excess, Material Shortages, etc.

▪ Monitor the performance of Control Tower meetings, Shop Floor Execution, and Supervise backlog reports with the planning team to maintain high-level delivery metrics and prevent customers Past Due orders.

▪ Monthly Review of Materials excess and obsolescence and follow procedure for proper disposition.

▪ Monthly Analysis of safety stock levels to meet the changing sales trends / customer demand changes.

▪ Identify areas of improvement and implement preventive and corrective actions in the supply chain area.

▪ Work closely with purchasing team to check vendor capacity and improve supplier’s performance.

▪ Supervise the correct set up and parameters maintenance of the site part numbers (BOM, Routings, etc).

▪ Supports the integration of inventory and materials planning into a collaborative effort between materials, operations and finance to support KPIS and customers on time delivery (STR).

  1. Requirements

Education ▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related engineering discipline

Professional experience ▪ 5+ years of experience as Master Production Scheduler / Capacity Analyst and Management

▪ Basic knowledge and understanding of Lean Concepts (Standard Work, Visual Management, KanBan/e-Kanban, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Material Replenishment and Flow, Cell Design,

etc.)

▪ General knowledge of Operations, Molding, and Manufacturing processes in automotive plants.

▪ Projects implementation involved in launches is an advantage

▪ Extended knowledge of planning processes (MRP, MPS, S&OP / SIOP)

▪ Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

▪ Strong Computer skills; SAP R/3, Rapid Response-Kinaxis, MS Office (Excel, Power Point, and Word).

▪ Trained in APICS CPIM modules / APICS qualification highly desirable.

▪ MMOG Certification desired

▪ Excellent oral communication skills.

▪ Strong aptitude for problem-solving

▪ Knowledge applicable to the position in IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
