Eaton Corporation Solution Architect - Power Platform in Queretaro, Mexico

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Solution Architect - Power Platform.

What you’ll do:

The Specialist - Solution Architect will be part of the Intelligent Automation product team in IT department. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Solution design and providing technology leadership to the team for complex and large-scale Intelligent Automation and Low-code Application deployments.

  • Offering technology guidance on Microsoft Power Platform to Citizen and IT developers at Eaton.

  • Defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Intelligent Automation capabilities in alignment with business objectives.

• Architectural Design and Communication: Lead and actively participate in planning, defining high-level product solutions, and exploring architectural alternatives. Define and communicate system interfaces, data structures, storage, integrations, cybersecurity considerations, test automation concepts, and deployment approaches. Factor in economic boundaries when making design decisions.

• Empower Citizen Developers: Provide learning opportunities, solutions, and consultancy related to the Power Platform.

• Collaborate with Agile Teams: Work closely with Agile teams to explore solutions, validate technology assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and converge on effective solutions.

• Enterprise Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the product roadmap aligns with enterprise architecture guidelines.

• Lead Power Platform Capability: Take charge of Microsoft Power Platform capabilities at Eaton. This involves providing technology guidance for tools like Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agent platforms.

• Solution Planning and Demos: Participate in solution planning, incremental planning, product demos, and inspect-and-adapt events.

• Architectural Runway Development: Plan and develop the architectural runway to support desired business outcomes.

• Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight to the technical team, emphasizing security, quality, and automation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Involves working in a highly matrixed organization spanning domestic and international locations.

B. Responsible for process, standards, governance and performance of the shared structures and technical environments.

C. Ability to access and evaluate products/vendors.

D. Has a good understanding of the technical platforms, applications, and tools currently utilized at Eaton.

E. Ability to drive projects with broad scope of deployment, including sector and/or region.

F. Drives decisions and deliverables within team

G. Negotiate small to moderate scale vendor SOW.

H. Architect, design, and lead solutions for global processes for various functional organizations

I. Create development standards and promote modularization and reuse of code.

J. Contribute to creation of policies, of standard approaches and techniques.

K. Be aware of industry automation trends, understand Eaton business and accordingly contribute in selecting business cases, develop prototypes and Proofs of Concept

L. Understand, learn, and develop on different automation tools.

M. Out of the box thinking, to identify and work around process design.

N. Develop foundational capabilities for automation like Architecture for TDM and MES development and support at Eaton.

O. Collaborate with business and development teams to drive robust testing methodologies.

P. Work within operational and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education level required

• Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science)

Years and area of experience required

• 12+ years of relevant industry experience

• 10+ years’ experience in design, development, implementation of Application or Automations.

• 3+ years of experience as an Architect in Microsoft Power Platform

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Power Platform

  • Understanding of RPA , Low code Application platform, Virtual Agents.

  • Microsoft Certification for Power Platform(Preferred)

  • Strong experience of working on Azure or other Cloud platform.

  • Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering

  • Experience developing enterprise grade, highly scalable, highly performant applications and/or distributed systems

  • Experience of working as a Full Stack Developer (Preferred)

  • Understanding of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts

  • Proficient in problem solving and design thinking

  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps, CI, and CD principles from code check-in through to deployment

  • Experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as encryption, hashing, certificates, PKIs, Threat Modeling, secure coding, and OWASP.

  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
