Job Summary:

The mission of Hudson Headwaters is to provide the best primary care possible to everyone in our communities, with special emphasis on those who are most challenging to serve. Our goal, in accordance with the team model, is to pursue continuous improvement in our delivery of health care services through strong provider leadership. The Dentists in our health centers must be strong communicators. They need to understand the nuances of practicing medicine in a health center setting and be aware of, and sensitive to, the perception of other practitioners. Dentists must be able to effectively communicate these perceptions to the Network, specifically to the senior medical directors, Lead Providers or other appropriate personnel. The role of all Dentists is that they are responsible for the delivery of appropriate dental care to all patients who present themselves at a Network Dental Health Center or are admitted to the dental office under the care of Network staff. Dentists render that care in which they have expertise as attested by their credentials, delineation and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Dentist position assumes the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures:

  • Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.

  • Provides preventive dental services to patient.

  • Provides clinical dental care to patients in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with standards of care.

  • Documentation in electronic medical records is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains a high level of coding accuracy.

  • Care is provided efficiently in terms of productivity, utilization of staff resources, and utilization of staff

  • resources as indicated through dental productivity calculations. Dentists perform at Network threshold or higher.

  • Positive feedback received regarding care of patients. No adverse trends noted in patient satisfaction survey results.

  • Monthly EMR reviews indicate appropriateness of level of care and type of treatment provided.

  • Dentists ensure they have no adverse trends noted through the Network event reporting process.

    Professional Qualifications:

    Dentists must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State; meet all Network credentialing requirements as set by the corporate by-laws; and demonstrate the appropriate skills, knowledge and leadership abilities to successfully fulfill the requirements of the position

    The salary for this position is $185,000 based on experience and credentials
