Zantech is seeking a talented SQL Database Developer / Analyst with expertise in designing, optimizing, and maintaining databases for ASP.NET web applications to support our Army Client. This role will play a key part in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database systems to support our web application initiatives.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop SQL Server database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures for ASP.NET web applications.

  • Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning.

  • Implement data models and database architecture to meet application requirements and performance goals.

  • Collaborate closely with software developers to integrate database functionality into ASP.NET applications.

  • Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support data retrieval and manipulation.

  • Conduct database testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity and reliability. Perform database migrations, upgrades, and backups in coordination with software releases and deployments.

  • Implement and enforce database security policies and best practices to protect sensitive data.

  • Stay abreast of new SQL Server features, tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in database performance and scalability.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education: Masters Degree -AND- 10+ years of relevant experience

OR: Bachelor's Degree -AND - 12+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Developer working with ASP.NET web applications. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database development, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.

  • Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and relational database

  • Experience with database tools and utilities for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Familiarity with version control systems and agile software development practices.

  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) such as creating, deploying and managing reports using SQL Server Data Tools Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell for automating routine database tasks, managing deployments, and maintaining database environments.

  • Knowledge of/Previous experience working with DoD systems, showcasing familiarity with defense-related projects and security requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project and SharePoint.

Required Certifications and Clearances:

  • MCSA/MCSE SQL Server 2016 or greater OR Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Admin Associate (DP-300)

  • Any IAT-II Certification: i.e. Security+ CE

  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret - MUST be fully adjudicated and with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret/SSBI.
