We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to work under the direction of the Engineering Management team and or respective lead engineers. This individual will be responsible for development of electrical, electro-mechanical, and software design projects within the scope of given requirements including research, design, checking, software generation, testing, and validation of assigned projects. This position requires planning and execution of assignments using independent judgment, creativity, and experience. Interaction with other teams, vendors, and customers will be required to ensure complete integration of all facets within the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support or lead the design of electrical and electromechanical systems for heavy duty mobile equipment including component selection, harness design and routing, and assembly design and installation. Participate in cross functional design efforts of control systems including hydraulic, mechanical, and software development.

  • Self-motivated individual capable of leading team and individual design efforts with minimal direct supervision

  • Work closely with all engineering groups, support teams, and manufacturing, to assure accurate integration and on time completion of options, modifications and new designs.

  • Preparation of project estimates, completion schedules, and cost targets. Monitor assigned project status and reports progress and obstacles to management as required completing tasks on schedule and within budget.

  • Participate and present in design reviews and verifications as required. Checking drawings to design requirements.

  • Demonstrated programing experience, including motion control, for heavy duty mobile equipment - preference given to CoDeSys and Plus+1 software programming techniques.

  • Produce the relevant documentation required e.g. electrical schematics, electrical assembly drawings, technical bulletins, manuals etc to manufacture, maintain and assist the products manufactured.

  • Provides assembly and test assistance and troubleshooting efforts as required to maintain production and delivery schedules.

  • Exercise independent judgment interpreting and applying verbal or written instructions and specifications in the completion of assigned projects.

  • Experience using 3D cad systems.

  • Ability to learn and utilize Siemens Solid Edge, NX and Teamcenter to create and revise 2D and 3D designs and drawings to JBT AeroTech standards.

  • Perform manufacturing and test duties for extended periods of time as required by business needs or training purposes.

  • Provide assistance and troubleshooting efforts as required to assembly, test department, and field service technicians.

  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or equivalent industry training

  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems (Siemens Solid Edge/NX preferred)

  • Excellent knowledge of standard PC based office software

  • Basic knowledge of PLC controlled systems and software

  • Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
