Emerson Lead Engineer - Embedded Software Development in PUNE, India

Job Summary

We are seeking a new Lead Engineer Embedded Development who will work on Embedded Development team responsible for a highly Embedded C++ & Rtos. This role requires a deep understanding of Embedded software processes (specifically Embedded C++ & Rtos), efficient project management capabilities, superb communication talent.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead engineer for model-based design engineering. Creating models for product platforms and their derivatives.

  • Interact with various product/project management teams, marketing teams to develop the requirements for software modules.

  • Convert the product specifications to software requirement specifications.

  • Design, Architect and Develop software modules.

  • Should be able to identify WBS , generate the schedule and maintain it.

  • Mentoring other team members

  • Reviewing various artifacts (SRS, Design Document, Models, Code etc) generated during SDLC.

  • Work as an independent embedded software developer also.

  • Work in co-ordination with BU

  • Strong experience on Matlab/Simulink

  • Strong experience with Embedded Coder, Stateflow, Simulink Coder.

  • Hands on experience with the MATLAB user interface

  • Guide in Model Based Design

  • C and C++ Proficient

  • Optimizing Simulink generated code for embedded systems

  • Must have excellent debugging skills.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum methods

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience working through transition from a fully manual coding environment to a fully Simulink generated code environment

  • Safety related software satisfying IEC 61508

  • Experience in RTOS based system e.g. VxWorks, UCOS, Threadx, FreeRTOS, MQX.

  • Knowledge in Design Patterns.

  • Linux: Hands on experience of Linux, U-Boot, kernel, GDB, CMake.

  • BSP, Device driver development knowledge

  • Experience in Database management (SQL/ SQLlite) is desirable.

  • Familiar with Embedded Security best Pracitces

  • Hands on experience with usage of JTAG debuggers, Emulators, oscilloscopes, function generators etc.

  • Experience on industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Profinet, EtherNet/IP (https://www.rtautomation.com/category/industrial-networking/ethernet-ip/) etc.

  • Should have exposure in developing embedded software for various microcontrollers.

  • Should have exposure to Bus communication like RS232, SPI, I2C etc.

  • Should have validated experience in embedded systems design with multitasking real-time operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electronics/Instrumentation/Telecommunication/Computers Engineering required.

  • Technically sound in embedded software development

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as good presentation skills

  • Familiar with Agile and traditional software development lifecycle in a product development environment
