Professional Time Type: Part time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Integrative Program in Biomedical Sciences (iPBS), with a focus geared towards first-year graduate student experience and support of all graduate students within the CVM. The Program Manager researches, develops, implements and evaluates graduate student programs that support the students and program goals set by the iPBS committee; develops programmatic materials for recruitment. Furthermore, the Program Manager will develop an annual budget plan and monitor expenditures, in consultation with the Program Director. This position provides programmatic support for iPBS; including, but not limited to, program and course assessments, event planning, graduate student support and training, and executing the leadership and professional development series. In addition, this position will work closely with teams within the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Graduate School, and other units across campus to provide student and programmatic services. This position will positively represent the iPBS program and the College of Veterinary Medicine to students, faculty, college leaders, alumni, and donors/supporters. This position will work occasional weekends and evenings. This position is located on the WSU Pullman campus. The appointment may be eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangement to be discussed if contacted for interview. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Demonstrated competency in following policies and procedures. • Excellent communication skills (e.g. oral, written, electronic). • Experience supporting others • Ability to work independently at times, while delegating duties when needed (eg. large events, orientation, symposiums, course management, recruitment) • Attention to detail • Comfortable advocating for others • Required to maintain confidentiality and student rapport. • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate information from diverse sources and to work effectively with a wide variety of administrators, faculty, students and the public. • Dedicated to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. • Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in an academic department at Washington State University. • Experience working in a higher education environment. • Experience with event planning and logistical detail. • Experience in managing a program. • Experience developing and administering a budget. • Experience training and coaching others.
