Reports to: Engineering Director

Location: Pullman, WA (regional hybrid, considered)

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.

Job Summary:

The role of PMO Project Manager is pivotal in driving the success of critical projects within the organization. As the Driver and Dynamo of project management, the incumbent is tasked with assuming full ownership of assigned projects from inception to fruition. This entails adeptly navigating obstacles, orchestrating crucial meetings, meticulously documenting progress, and fostering transparent communication across all stakeholders. It's important to emphasize that this role primarily focuses on leadership rather than direct supervision of staff.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced Project Management: Proven expertise in taking ownership of project management, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively, fostering collaboration among teams and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Excellence: High proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Tools Proficiency: Skilled in JIRA, Confluence, and Google Suite, with an ability to adapt to new project management tools quickly.
  • Agile and Other Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies, applying them effectively in various project contexts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in project management, with a proven track record in leading and delivering complex projects successfully.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.

Note: Candidates currently pursuing certification or with a commitment to obtaining certification within the first year of employment will also be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Leadership: Actively manage and lead projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

Governance & Methodology Application: Implement and maintain project management standards and methodologies, applying them personally to projects under direct management. Create project charters and use industry standard practices to drive projects to successful completion.

Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and address project blockers, facilitating smooth project progression.

Meeting Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement: Organize and lead essential meetings, maintaining active engagement with all internal and external project stakeholders.

Documentation & Reporting: Ensure thorough documentation of project proceedings and provide regular, proactive updates to stakeholders.

Resource & Budget Support: Track resource allocation and project budgets effectively. Assist in gathering and delivering relevant financial data related to projects to stakeholders, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making.<
