Position Details:

 

Summary of Duties:

 

Facilities Services, Operations seeks a Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist (FOMS) to evaluate equipment operations problems and emergencies in buildings on campus. The incumbent will independently take appropriate action to return equipment to normal operating condition and monitor building systems operations to ensure their normal functioning. Additionally, the position will respond to and establish alternate operating modes for malfunction of utility systems, monitor and operate campus central chilled water system, and coordinate with campus environmental operations personnel and initiate operating procedures to maintain building environmental systems.

 

Working Hours:

 

• Saturday and Sunday - 6am - 4pm

 

• Monday and Tuesday - 4pm - 2am

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Four years of journey-level experience in one or more skilled trades, including experience in heating and air-conditioning systems, mechanical and electrical systems. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

 

• A valid unrestricted driver's license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Demonstrated experience using all types of power tools and equipment utilized in troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, environmental and structural systems and equipment.

 

• Four (4) years of journey level experience in HVAC, Electrical or Mechanical trade.

 

• Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing.
