What a Technician does at HP:

  • Work with Process Engineering to evaluate, select and install equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacturing of products.

  • Work on the transfer and installation of manufacturing equipment

  • Interface directly with suppliers for installs, troubleshooting, equipment acceptance and resolving any technical issues that may arise.

  • Perform system upgrades, re-design hardware and components for productivity, yield, and cost improvement.

  • Obtain and maintain equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Typically, an Associate degree / Diploma or equivalent experience and 4-6 years of experience.

  • May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.

  • Working knowledge in the field of electromechanical technology or semiconductor.

  • Experience in performing machine buyoff, maintenance or handling process machines will be an add-on advantage.
