Job Description Summary

Within the L5 Component Repair Insourcing Program, the Senior Engineering Manager – Special Processes will lead a global team of Process Engineers, responsible to manage and lead all the technical & operational activities linked with Special Processes Equipment’ purchase and industrialization within the Aero Alliance Shop Network, with a particular focus to Avenza (Italy) and Port Klang (Malaysia).

The Senior Engineering Manager – Special Processes will report to the Project Director, and she/he will work in close collaboration with the Senior Engineering Manager – Component Repair

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define and structure a Technical Career Path, able to manage the competences of various Subject Matter Expert (SME), needed skills, expertise, and trainings.

  • Lead, coach and inspire a global team of experts and young engineers, managing their skills growth within Technical Career Path.

  • Jobs/tasks assignation to team members, balancing team workload and technical skill matrix. His/her team will be responsible for:

  • Becoming the Aero Alliance technical reference point for all the special processes and NTI (new technology introduction).

  • Defining Engineering Spec to purchase Equipment, as per routings defined by Repair Engineering.

  • Technical selection/alignment of different Equipment suppliers.

  • Technical selection of Farm-out company (both in Avenza and in Port Klang) to support business continuity plan and manage load peaks.

  • Writing of Operative Procedures for Special Processes Operations.

  • Industrialization of everything connected with the New Technology Introduction (pre-setting, CAD/CAM software, tooling manufacturing, process quality engineering)

  • In addition to the above management tasks, She/He will be direct owner of define and structure an AAJV internal Technical Qualification Plan, whose Quality and Engineering principles shall be:

  • Generic and valid for all the different Special Processes & Disciplines

  • Compliant with GE Aerospace Standard Practice Manual requirements, whereas applicable

  • Coherent with Aero Alliance QMS (Quality Management System)

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering

  • Significant and proven experience with Aero Engines Overhaul/Engineering or Special Process Industrialization.

  • Previous experience as manager/team leader with experience in managing global teams.

  • Capability and experience to work with local and remote resources, merging people from different locations as needed to close complex projects in due time.

  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization

  • Be a Solution-oriented problem solver

  • Previous knowledge/experience of those engines would be a plus: LM2500, LM6000, LM9000, CF6-6, CF6-80, GE90-115B.

  • Fluency in English and Italian, in writing and speaking.

  • Extensive experience within GE / BH repair business

  • Capability to prioritize business requirements and to efficiently manage assigned budgets.

  • Full availability to travel for business purposes world-wide
