Job Description: As a Laborer, you will be an essential part of our production team, responsible for assisting in various aspects of our galvanizing process. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Transporting materials to and from work areas using forklifts, cranes, or other equipment.
- Preparation: Cleaning and preparing surfaces of steel products for the galvanizing process, including sandblasting, degreasing, and masking.
- Galvanizing Process: Assisting in the immersion of steel products into the molten zinc bath, ensuring proper coating and adherence.
- Quality Control: Inspecting finished products for defects and imperfections, making adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Union membership or willingness to join the union.
