System One Civil Field Engineer (Per Diem) in Pueblo, Colorado

System One is recruiting for a Civil Field Engineer for a long-term contract position located in Pueblo, CO.

This role is for a Civil Field Engineer who will be responsible for supporting 2 solar projects within the S. Colorado region near Comanche plant in Pueblo, CO. This resource will be in the field for significant amounts of time, working with project team enforcing our specifications with the EPC contractor.

Civil Field Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project field inspectors and the field inspectors would work to report any NCRs to this resource. If the field inspector sees something, they will consult with a field engineer and the field engineer is able to look at it (something that's not compliant with the specifications or something that's potentially problematic for us), as the owner of these facilities.

  • Engineer will also be able to look at our drawings/specifications and determine what requires action/correction on the EPC contractor side. This resource should have knowledge of how to resolve a RFI and NCR noncompliance request.

  • Work with our lead civil engineer on the project to be able to understand/interpret design drawings and managing the compliance of the construction to the design drawings and managing RFI requests.

  • Provide information to the contractors or field construction teams, as they often require information such as specifications and drawings.

  • Will have responsibility to understand and manage the scope of the contract.

    Civil Field Engineer Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school.

  • Familiarity with ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam would be helpful to review EPC contractors’ drawings (technical review communication tool). SAP might be a plus.

  • This resource should have renewable generation project experience and should be willing/able to travel and stay at the site for approximately 3 days per week. Should have 2-3 years/equivalent experience with other renewables as well.

  • 5-7 years of civil engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).

  • Resource should have very strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical [thinking] skills to resolve answering questions, troubleshooting design conflicts, etc.

  • Organization is key in this role as they will be interfacing with several different team, tracking and documenting.

  • Resource should have knowledge of/familiarity with NCRs, RFIs, and the ability to understand and manage the scope of a contract.

    Location: Pueblo, CO (Per Diem for non-local candidates)

    Hourly Pay Rate: $63.00/hr.
