ICE SERVICES, INC. Welder - Combo in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

Hours per day: 12.0

Rotation:3x3with possibility of holdover

Reports to: Welding Supervisor

Purpose of Position:

Provide fabrication, cutting and welding support to multiple clients in the greater Prudhoe bay area.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum three years of experience in fabrication, cutting and welding
  • Proficiently skilled in structural/pipe welding using GMAW, GTAW (Preferably) and SMAW processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Cut material using powered saws, oxy-acetylene torch, or plasma cutter.
  • Suitably prep, fit and finish work pieces using hand tools or a grinder.
  • Proficiently skilled in welding a variety of material types/grades in 1G-6G positions using aforementioned welding processes.
  • Ability to complete acceptable welds per code in sub-zero arctic climate. (Arctic grade gear provided)
  • Ability to understand and follow specified welding procedures to provide acceptable welds tested per applicable code.
  • Capable of understanding and following engineered drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, material acquisition and welding operations.
  • Determine required equipment and welding method when necessary by applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds on regular basis. Daily routine may require walking, standing, bending and/or climbing.
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test required for entering confined spaces.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and good customer service skills.

Certificates, Licenses andRequirements:

  • Welding - Acceptable 6G test in both SMAW and GMAW required upon accepting position.
  • Valid Driver License that meets ICE Services insurance criteria for driving.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card. Training course will be supplied if needed
  • Must pass pre-hire drug test, breath-alcohol test, occupational fitness test, and background check
  • Rotational schedule of at least 12 hours per day for 21 days consecutively and 21 days off.
  • Work load may allow for working over while keeping 3 week on / 3 week off base schedule
