Principle Database Administrator, Open Text, Inc., Provo, UT:

Lead DBA Team and Supporting Database environments for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL & DB2. Perform database maintenance, migration, and upgrade hardware and software enhancing the success and performance. Develop data migration plans to migrate legacy on-premises databases into AWS / GCP data stores. Manage and monitor database operations including backups, restores, recovery models, database table space management, security management, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, materialized view issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. Performance Tuning and Query Optimization using Performance Monitor, SQL Tuner and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Detect and troubleshoot Oracle database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. Develop and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints). Establish and manage SOX Compliance across applications / databases. Provide continuous improvement of tools and processes related to DB operations to ensure proper communication and quick resolution. Manage database budgets for the corporate assets. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors on development, enhancements, and upgrades to environment. Maintain various SLAs and tracking them regularly. Team management, recruitment, and evaluation of talent. Train the team to help them grow and develop. Production change deployment and DBA consultation & support during business off hours.

  Minimum Requirements:

 

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years of experience with Production Database support.

 

Of the above, must have 5 years of experience in/with the following:

·       Administration and maintenance of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases in production and non- production environments in on-prem as well as cloud platform;

·       Developing and enforcing database security standards, access policies, and provision user access at server and database level;

·       Troubleshooting database performance issues, resource contention, query tuning, and optimization;

·       Managing database backups & recovery and implementing disaster recovery solutions;

·       Implementing high-availability solutions for database availability, scalability, and disaster resiliency;

·       Database migration from on-prem to cloud, database server builds, security patching, and service pack upgrades; and

·       Resolving production incident tickets raised by monitoring tools and development teams.

 

This role requires up to 15% domestic travel.

 

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
