WM Senior Manager, HR Technology Support - Oracle in Providence, Rhode Island

I. Job Summary

This Senior Manager oversees a global team responsible for consultation, planning and execution of enhancements (internal and vendor) and day to day support of HR systems in partnership with HR Functional Owners. This role plans for releases/upgrades and manages the team to deliver on projects/enhancements for assigned HR system(s)/module(s) including Service Now HR Service Delivery, Oracle Recruiting, Talent Management and Learning. This role provides strategic and tactical consultation and input on design options supporting processes/transactions. Plans with Functional Owners, Release Management and OCM to align resources and scope to milestones. Engaging and hands on leader with system expertise and experience.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This Sr. Manager is responsible for the successful configuration, development and continuous delivery and support of Oracle Talent Management, Learning, Recruiting, and ServiceNow HR Service Delivery. Manages application support and enhancement projects working with the HR Technology team, HR Process Owners and other stakeholders (including Digital).

  • Provides consultative support to Functional Owners and other stakeholders regarding configuration and system functionality to automate processes and address business issues. Oversees team analysis to ensure optimal configuration, development and accountability.

  • Provides leadership and support to global team, fosters trust, collaboration, development and customer focus in a positive work environment. Empowers team and holds them accountable to commitments. Sets goals, monitors performance, and provides regular coaching and thoughtful feedback and mentoring. Develops team members and promotes continuous learning. Building a successful team and effective working relationships is a priority.

  • Drives the team to stay current on system capabilities and to meet project plan deliverables and timeline within capacity. Maintains a focus on collaboration and consultation based on research and a strong understanding of the available functionality.

  • Responsible for systematic intake and coordination of the design, build, test, and deploy phases of the application in accordance with established governance. Works with Functional Owners to ensure prioritization.

  • Acts as change control leader - responsible for planning releases, upgrades, patches, and configuration across the assigned Oracle HCM module(s)/HR application(s) and adheres to compliance with enterprise Digital change management and audit.

  • Regularly leads meetings and resolves priority issues with functional leaders/business stakeholders. Communicates downstream change impacts to functional and change partners in support of change management and risk mitigation

  • Builds relationships with internal leaders from HR, Digital, Finance, Operations, Legal and Audit. Develops and continues to grow an understanding of the WM business model and service delivery. Ensures coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure business continuity, continuous evolution, and improvement.

  • Provides capacity plans and regular status reporting, risk & issue log, and application updates. Appropriately escalates issues that may put projects, deliverables, timelines, or day to day support at risk.

  • Manages engagement with external vendors for support, enhancements, roadmap discussions and issue reporting/escalation as appropriate.

  • Responsible for configuration of application according to design requirements and specifications. Works with Functional team to optimize processes and evolve to best meet business needs.

  • Responsible for Tier 2 support escalations and issue resolution, supports change management with system information.

  • Champions data and process governance.

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Must live and work in the US.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience required.

  • Experience: 10+ years of HR Technology development, configuration, and support experience (in addition to education requirement) with a minimum of 3 years in a Cloud environment; 5 years experience working with various technical teams (e.g., Middleware Applications, Data Warehouse, Database, Server, Network, Security, QA/QE, etc.) and engagement/management of vendor relationships; and 3 years leading a team to successfully deliver on commitments, development and performance management of team members and considerations for hiring, terminations and promotions. Oracle HCM experience preferred.

B. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Software Lifecycle Management - Preferably Agile

  • Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of current and emerging technologies relevant to the existing HR landscape and service delivery.

  • Team Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate technology teams. Provide clear direction, set priorities, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work effectively with cross-functional, multi-cultural teams and stakeholders to achieve technology goals. Foster collaboration, build strong relationships, and promote a culture of teamwork and development.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Listen actively, provide clear instructions, and foster open and transparent communication. Help stakeholders understand the benefits and impact of technology changes and facilitate smooth transitions.

  • Problem Solving: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technology-and team related challenges. Analyze issues, propose creative solutions, and make informed decisions.

  • Project Management: Possess strong project management skills to plan, execute, and deliver technology commitments on time and within budget. Ensure effective resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation within the HR technology team. Encourage creativity, experimentation, and the exploration of new technologies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Orientation: Have the ability to align technology initiatives and resources with the HR function goals and objectives. Develop and execute technology strategies that drive innovation and better enable the business.

  • Business Acumen: Understand the organization's industry, hierarchy and business model. Connect technology initiatives to business outcomes and demonstrate an understanding of how technology can support and drive business success.

IV. Work Environment

Office: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $133,455 - $203,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
