University Medicine Physician - Pulmonary/Critical Care in Providence, Rhode Island

Seeking a Full-time physician scientist in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine with a specialized interest in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD).

Exciting opportunity to join our team of medical professionals. Brown Medicine is a multi-specialty faculty practice group affiliated with Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. With nearly 215 physicians, Brown Medicine is a large physician group based in Rhode Island and offers competitive salary and outstanding benefits.

The Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Brown University (Brown Physicians Incorporated) is seeking to hire a faculty member who will work as a full-time academic investigator, interested in pursuing or continuing an academic, funded career in ILD in our large, multi-hospital healthcare system.

Seeking a physician who is board certified/eligible in pulmonary/critical care medicine.

  • This position involves directing the established Rhode Island Hospital ILD Center and working closely with experienced colleagues and on-site staff. The existing ILD Center includes access to nursing and research staff and participates in clinical trials.

  • Pre-existing funding preferable, but candidates with a track record of mentored awards who are close to achieving independence are also welcomed to apply.

  • We serve a diverse patient population ranging from all over Southern New England, including those from underserved areas.

  • Responsibilities would also include attending in the fellow’s pulmonary clinic and reading pulmonary function tests.

  • Inpatient service time may include attending on a teaching service in pulmonary consults (and possibly the ICU) with the opportunity to work directly with medical residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows from Brown University.
