Worldwide Equipment PARTS MANAGER in Princeton, West Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY

Strives to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. Accomplishes objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all parts department staff. • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them. • Holds Staff and Crew meetings as outlined by the company • Holds or attends all Sales meetings, Attends all Service or Body Shop Crew meetings. • Directs Outside and Counter sales efforts • Develops sales promotions utilizing feedback from the sales team. • Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty. • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts department. • Monitors and Manages Inventory Health and maintains each inventory category within company standards o Dirty Cores, Obsolescence, overstock, Days’ Supply on hand (Turns) and Return Receivables • Evaluates Inventory Turns and Earns and maximizes the company’s ROI by product line • Verifies all employees follow the Care, Custody and Control of parts SOP as issued by the company. • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines. • Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know. • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales. • Maintains professional appearance. • Adheres to all safety rules and regulations • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

• Schedules and supervises all employees of the parts department.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. • Proficient in business math to include factoring discounts, interest, commissions, and applying common sense reasoning to compile a business plan. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
