The Accelerator is looking for a cloud engineer to collaborate with team members on developing, deploying, and enhancing data-intensive applications and processes. This individual will work as part of a small cross-functional team, participating in product design and iterative development to support the mission of powering policy-relevant research by building shared infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be a fully competent professional in all aspects of the subject matter. They should be able to work independently, make decisions on engineering problems, and use advanced techniques. They are expected to consult with supervisors about unusual problems and developments.

A remote work arrangement within the United States may be considered for candidates with the appropriate background and experience. University-paid business travel to Princeton, NJ may be required approximately 2-4 times per year.

The term of this appointment is 1 year, with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory performance and funding.

Responsibilities

Cloud Engineering

  • * Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • * Develop and implement solutions using Tensorflow/Bicep for machine learning tasks.
  • * Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • * Deploy and manage PyTorch/TensorFlow workloads on CPU and GPU targets.
  • * Implement observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.
  • * Ensure internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
  • * Operate within environments compliant with PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27000, or equivalent regulations.
Qualifications
  • * A combination of relevant work experience and education that would equal 3-5 years of relevant work experience with a record of accomplishment
  • * Knowledge of Terraform/Bicep
  • * Experience with Azure cloud services
  • * Understanding of data systems design and optimization within budgets.
  • * Previous experience deploying PyTorch/TensorFlow workloads on CPU and GPU targets.
  • * Ability to implement observability solutions for application monitoring and alerting.
  • * Well-developed understanding and application of data security best practices and compliance standards; General experience operating within environments compliant with PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27000, or equivalent.
  • * Excellent communication and collaboration skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • * Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • * Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure certifications, TensorFlow Developer Certificate)
