BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. is hiring a(n) Associate, Market Risk Management (ref. Code R241128 in Princeton, NJ.Duties: Manage risk of portfolios within BlackRock’s Municipal Fixed Income business. Analyze risk decomposition and performance attribution relative to a given market condition or exposure change for the municipal bond mutual funds and institutional clients’ municipal portfolios. Apply quantitative techniques and multi-disciplinary skillset to solve real-world problems and provide tangible solutions to the investment management process. Conduct research and analysis on financial market trends and portfolio constituents to help portfolio managers with portfolio construction. Assist portfolio managers to assess potential risks and rebalance financial opportunities to achieve client’s investment objectives. Conduct risk review meetings with portfolio managers and discuss risk and performance issues. Perform market stress scenario tests on portfolios to determine returns behaviors. Conduct market-based quantitative analytics and statistical analysis such as empirical regression and peer group analysis to help portfolio managers better understand municipal mutual funds’ peer ranking and positioning. Work with other teams encompassing investing, macroeconomics, financial modeling, and strategy. Perform data analytics and create innovative risk oversight frameworks with scalability using quantitative analysis to meet risk management needs, specific to Municipal Fixed Income investment objectives. REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or related field of study.
