Who we’re looking for

Toyota is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Production Group Leader (1st Line Supervisor).

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop team members and team leaders and lead team member skill enhancement activities.

Reporting to the manager, the person in this role will support the objective to lead/manage team members.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage a group of hourly team leaders and team members, providing direct communication and leadership to ensure a safe operating environment.

• Demonstrate leadership skills to achieve/exceed all safety, quality, cost and team member development objectives.

• Provide/coordinate training and developmental opportunities, fostering a respect for people environment

• Utilize strong communication skills as the primary communication link between leadership and the production team. Collaboration with other areas, departments within Toyota, giving regular informal and formal updates to Toyota senior leadership.

• Daily Management of an assigned area, included safety, quality, productivity, cost and team member development

• Utilize problem solving skills to visualize and eliminate process bottlenecks, improve equipment/tooling, team member ergonomics. Engage your team in Toyota Business Practices and Quality Circles to resolve issues and develop your teams capabilities.

• Must be capable of utilizing engineering principles to resolve day to day concerns and be capable of understanding T/M conceptual ideas and developing them into practical applications and solutions. Must possess a certain degree of creativity and have a strong mechanical ability / back round.

• Utilize project management and planning skills to translate the division annual business plan to daily activities for your team

• Manage area budget, including operating supplies, raw materials, staffing - continuously looking for improvement opportunities.

• Multi shift operation requires shift rotation

Qualifications - External

What you bring

• Bachelor's Degree or 10 years' experience in manufacturing

• 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain

Preferred:

• Experience in Automotive Manufacturing

• Experience in project management
