Falcon Contracting Ltd. Accounts Payable Payroll Clerk in Prince George, British Columbia

The Falcon Group of Companies operates a diverse portfolio of businesses including Falcon Contracting Ltd. (Civil Construction & General Contracting), Falcon Camp Services Inc (Turn-key Camps & Catering) and Falcon Transload Inc. (Rail-to-truck Transloading). We seeking a highly experienced Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk to join the accounting team working out of our head office in Prince George, BC.

Responsibilities:

  • Entering accounts payable into Sage 50 accounting software

  • Ensuring invoices and cheque requests are properly support and approved

  • Reviewing account coding and correcting any miscoding

  • Ensuring the accuracy of sales tax (GST and PST) 

  • Reconciling monthly vendor statements

  • Matching invoices to approval batches

  • Producing cheque runs as required and attached invoices for backup

  • Issuing remittance to vendors by mail and email

  • Maintaining vendor database in Sage 50 

  • Entering timesheets into Sage 50 accounting software

  • Enter bills of ladings into company spreadsheets and databases

  • Scanning, photocopying, and filing as required

  • All other general administrative and office duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10+ years accounting experience

  • Previous experience with a construction, forestry, or industrial organization

  • Strong paperwork handling skills and attention to detail

  • Strong written, verbal and electronic communication skills 

  • Highly experienced user of Excel, Word, Acrobat, Outlook and Sage 50

Overall, we are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative 

  • Accurate and able to following direction, policies and procedures

The preferred candidate would be experienced in both payroll and accounts payable functions but the company may consider an applicant with an accounts payable background.
