Role Purpose

Control project management activity within the Program Management Project team including the maintenance of project business processes and documentation to comply with Corporate Project Management Best Practices, maintenance of action logs, level 1 plans and assisting with Risk and Opportunity management.

Project Controller

Salary: From £36,013 to £39,679

This opportunity, based at our Prestwick site offers:

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining accurate Development and / or Production Schedules to support projects.

  • Support the introduction and maintenance of Project Management Best Practices across the project.

  • Assist Project Manager to create, and control the configuration of, all Project and functional level plans and activities during the non-recurring phase of new projects and major changes to existing projects.

  • Assist the Project Manager in the development, reporting and ongoing review of appropriate performance metrics.

  • Ensure accurate reporting through the maintenance of topical KPIs.

  • Maintain Customer reports and presentations including the co-ordination of information for major programme and plan reviews.

  • Assist the Project Manager in liaising with Finance and Commercial focal’s to support accurate reporting, monitoring and control of spend against Project budgets.

  • Co-ordination and review of reporting packs for all Customer monthly Program Reviews.

  • Assist Senior Project Controllers and Project Managers in managing the Opportunities and Risk process at local level, including, managing interfaces with internal functions.

  • Maintain and develop (where applicable) ‘standard templates’ for reporting and presenting.

  • Co-ordinate and host stakeholder calls and management of action item log.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a project environment

  • Good understanding of program planning principles and drivers

  • Project management skills to drive multi disciplines to support deliverables

  • Financial and analytical skills

  • Management and understanding of local and corporate processes

  • Good written and communication skills

  • Ability to communicate across management levels

  • Confident in understanding other functions and challenging data where appropriate

  • Good people skills / ability to manage others as applicable

    Decision Making Authority

  • Authority to make day to day low/medium terms decisions.

  • Authority to interpret and report data in a manner of different ways for various inputs to management and finance.

  • Authority to make recommendations to First Level Management on output of various analysis and determine corrective actions required if applicable.
