Regional CNA Trainer/Instructor (Region - Prattville) Up to $80k based on exp.

Facilities served by NHS provide skilled nursing and rehabilitative services to their residents including, but not limited to, physical, speech and occupational therapy; dietary services, recreational services, pharmacy and environmental services.

General Overview: To instruct, deliver, coordinate and assign schedules for the nursing assistant students training program implemented by this company in accordance with current federal and state guidelines.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide leadership in formulating and executing the goals and objectives of the nursing assistant training program to include but not limited to setting expectations to meet standards of the facility: dress code, attendance, communication and professionalism.

  • Direct and deliver the preparation, scheduling and selection of instructional material, equipment and training aids, to ensure that a modern, meaningful training program is provided. Ensure the material is presented utilizing various forms of media and interaction with students in a modern application with enthusiasm and energy.

  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing assistants. Assist in enrolling students by maintaining positive relationships with schools, vendors and perspective employees. Attend local job fairs to recruit and engage students.

  • Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours for nurse aide trainees. Make rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that nurse aide trainees are performing only tasks for which they have been trained by and accompanying students to facility rotations to observe and provide feedback and recommendations on development. This may include traveling to various and multiple facilities.

  • Ensure that all nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from an approved training program.

  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in operational order at all times

Job Requirements:

  • Current Alabama RN Nurse license in good standing

  • Valid Alabama Driver’s License in good standing

  • Two years experience in a hospital or long-term care facility as a RN; or at least one year experience in Long Term Care

  • Ability to communicate and articulate to make the objectives of the class clear to students utilizing various methods of instruction to engage and optimize learning for students

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and dynamism in creating an engaging classroom setting expectations of the company standard

  • Well versed in training program topics being able to present facts and concepts from related fields utilizing various methods of delivery: i.e – power point, word, videos and various teaching aids

  • Must be able to travel among local facilities as needed for training and work needs required. Some overnight travel may be required to assist in non-local facilities.

  • State approved “Train the Trainer" program certification

  • IHN training to administer State written certification tests

  • Certification from ETS & State of Alabama to observe clinical skills tests

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
