Pay Rate : Journeyman III start at an hourly rate of $41.00/hr. for day worker and $42.03 for shift workers.

After an initial onboarding period, the Journeyman I immediately begin a state-of-the-art training and certification program to allow potential rapid advancement to higher position and increased wages.

A 28-day cycle looks like this:

4 Day Shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) --- 7 days off

4 Night Shifts (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) --- 3 days off

3 Day Shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) --- 1 day off

3 Night Shifts (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) --- 3 days off

The Job You Will Perform:

This is a top journeyman-level electrical and instrument (EI) person responsible to complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in EI work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not limited to, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining 480v thru 2300v motor controls, 13.8kv electrical systems, relay logic, PLC systems, DCS and a variety of field instruments, analytical equipment and final control elements.

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturers

  • Troubleshoot, configure, maintain DCS systems

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain 480v and 2300v motors including induction, synchronous, wound rotor, permanent magnet and DC

  • Instillation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufacturers of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain motor controls including electronic motor protection relays, sizing overloads and starter maintenance of various manufacturers

  • Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches

  • Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems including associated communication such as DH+, mod-bus, Ethernet

  • Read, interpret and red line wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID’s and loop sheets

  • Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards

  • Communicate with operators while troubleshooting electrical and instrument controls

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages

  • Maintain shops, load centers, DCS work areas to a 5S standard

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Eligible for employment in the US

  • Must have two (2) of the following:

  • Four-years electrical apprenticeship

  • Electrical degree certified from accredited college or trade school

  • Two (2) or more years industrial EI maintenance experience

  • Willing and capable of working all shifts

  • Able to work in a team environment

Plus – must be willing to meet the following requirements:

  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule

  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.

  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

  • Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends

  • Wear required safety equipment/PPE

  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a maintenance discipline.

  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.

  • Strong math/physics understanding.

  • Prior experience as a multi-skill mechanic.

Candidates who are offered a position, will be required to:

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug testing while employed;

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment health assessment;

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
