We at Siemens EDA develop sophisticated software tools that span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions, including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design and manufacturing solutions, cable harness tools, and embedded software. Overview of position

Working independently and as part of the group of Tessent engineers in the EU, US, and worldwide that applies advanced DFT methodologies to ensure the manufacturing quality of microchips. As a Tessent Software Development Engineer, you will take part in implementing features of the tools being exposed to real customer issues as well as analysis, planning and developing enhancement requests.

You will be an intern in one of the Tessent Research and Development teams

Tessent is Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software developed by SIEMENS. The Tessent tool is used by the largest companies in the IC industry to insert DFT (Design for Test) logic and prepare their microchips for manufacturing tests. The DFT is a branch of engineering, based mostly on R&D. The DFT solutions designed by our engineering teams are based on IEEE standards and usually go beyond them.

You will be participating in daily work of software engineering team and supporting their efforts in developing leading edge solution to our customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Implementing real features

  • Cooperating with software developers and other team members in the EU, US, Asia

  • Helping in solving customer’s issues

  • In day-to-day operations we use Linux, Bash, Tcl (script language popular in DFT tools), Verilog, JIRA, MS Office, MS Teams

How long will the internship last?

  • Summer internship - 3 months (01/07 – 30/09/2024)

  • Possibility of extended internship for an entire academic year (01/10/20224- 30/06/2025)

  • Possible bachelor/master thesis in cooperation with SIEMENS EDA

  • We pay interns during the summer and extended internships

What do you need to succeed?

  • Conversational English

  • Software development basics (preferred languages: C++, Python)

  • Willingness to learn about various DFT technologies and become an expert in one of them

  • Nice to know: code management tools (GIT, Mercurial, CVS), scripting languages, regular expressions
