General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

  • Responsible for overseeing all activities related to developing, planning, and scheduling of proposals.

  • Manages the writing, editing, production, and delivery of the proposal.

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure business objectives are met.

  • Provides leadership and guidance in implementing new/revised objectives and maintains liaisons with other department managers.

  • May accomplish objectives through subordinate management and/or professional staff.

  • May be responsible for decisions that have a serious impact on outcomes such as changes to schedules or allocation of resources.

  • Serves as primary interface for proposals with senior management, strategic development, engineering, production, finance, contracts, et al.

  • Compiles cost, schedule and technical elements for the development of proposals in accordance with RFP specifications.

  • Manages the research and analysis of historical data, coordinates the development of cost and insure s proposals meet RFP requirements.

  • Recommends strategy and provides guidance for all proposal activities. Leads solution, theme, and business shaping meetings.

  • Assigns tasks, reviews work and provides direction to staff while ensuring business objectives are met within established timelines.

  • Manages and participates in selection, retention, and development of plans for talent acquisition.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related discipline and eleven or more years of progressive professional experience in marketing communications, business development or proposal development with at least five of those years in directly applicable proposal management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Strong understanding of applicable FAR-15 requirements and experience managing compliant, sole-source proposals preferred.

  • Must be customer-focused (both internal and external) and possess:

  • The ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment in resolving complex management and technical problems.

  • The ability to serve as spokesperson on various projects.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to enable an effective interface with internal stakeholders across the Company.

  • Knowledge of computer applications and operations pertinent to the field.

  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and lead in a team environment, and able travel as required.
