Toray Membrane USA, Inc. Production Technician l in Poway, California

Job Summary Performs all tasks required, per work instructions, during the assembly process when assigned to include packaging, trimming and/or tube prep of the products as well as trimming and bagging products.

Essential Functions

  1. Able to perform full-time work during the scheduled work hours assigned for this position, meet the minimum physical requirements necessary to execute assigned job duties, demonstrate basic proficiency with computer-based systems, and able to read, write, understand, communicate and execute work instructions in English.
  2. Understand and follow TMUSs environmental, health and safety (EHandS) requirements, Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines and HR-related policies and procedures.
  3. Perform all work duties assigned while following established safety practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering/working in designated areas where PPE is required that meet OSHA, TMUS and Toray HQ policies, guidelines and standards.
  4. When requested by the Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead, assist in other areas of the production/assembly process.
  5. Perform regular visual quality inspection of RO elements to ensure a quality product that meets Toray standards.
  6. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively with others.
  7. Ensure that training and cross-training activities are completed when scheduled to maintain and sustain competency and awareness.
  8. Ensure that actions and behavior contribute to a professional, safe and respectful work environment at all times.
  9. Perform daily housekeeping duties at assigned workstation and surrounding work areas, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  10. Immediately communicate with Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor, RO Production Manager and/or EHandS Manager if any unsafe situation is observed, or if workflow or processes may be affected that could lead to downtime in production so that it can be resolved timely.
  11. Immediately report all work-related injuries and illnesses (for self or other employees) even if it is minor, to the Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor, RO Production Manager and/or EHandS Manager so that it can be addressed timely.
  12. Maintain regular, reliable in-person attendance and punctuality; ensure accurate recordkeeping with regard to time and attendance; and absence notification procedures are followed.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities not included above but related to the position, when assigned.
