JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Insurance Follow up Representative DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Billing STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Billing Manager DATE: March 2024 POSITION SUMMARY: The Insurance Follow up Representative is responsible for collecting and resolving outstanding third party receivables, meeting productivity standards related to cash collections, aging of accounts, timely follow up and account resolution. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Extensive Insurance follow up for various insurance plans Working denials, submitting appeals and corrected claims Thorough knowledge and understanding of insurance plan policy updates including authorization and medical necessity requirements Insurance Refund processing Answering phone calls Answering patient and staff questions for particular insurance plans Setting up users for the insurance portals Overall awareness of specified insurance plans account receivable issues All Other duties as assigned EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a High School diploma 2 to 4 years relevant experience preferably in a healthcare environment. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Strong organizational skills. Computer proficiency Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills Comprehensive knowledge of insurance plans, member eligibility, and medical billing Ability to work independently and collaboratively on assigned tasks and projects
