Tredegar Corporation Production Supervisor in Pottsville, Pennsylvania

Tredegar Corporation is an industrial manufacturer with three primary businesses: custom aluminum extrusions for the North American building and construction, automotive and specialty end-use markets; surface protection films for high-technology applications in the global electronics industry; and specialized polyester films primarily for the Latin American flexible packaging market. Tredegar had 2022 sales from continuing operations of $939 million. With approximately 2,000 employees, the Company operates manufacturing facilities in North America, South America and Asia.

Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our Production/Manufacturing Team! 

As an integral member of our team, the Production Supervisor provides leadership, coaching and feedback to production personnel.  This role coordinates the shift activities of the production crew.  Oversees training of production personnel in equipment operation, safety policies, and procedures.  Ensures the safety of the team, product quality, effective production oversite, good housekeeping practices, and teamwork within the crew and between other crews. The Production Supervisor is  responsible for the facilities, services, and personnel in the absence of higher management. Performs other duties as required to promote overall plant effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with engineering to ensure production lines are running efficiently and of high quality.

  • Coordinates the shift’s work and line assignments while also enabling technicians to attend Tredegar First Class (TFC) sub-team meetings.   

  • Monitors and manages first-line employee relations matters, personnel attendance, and personnel job performance.  

  • Coordinates downtime for maintenance on production lines and good relations with other plant departments. 

  • Completes daily reports, audits, paperwork in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Compiles product order packets and completes select secondary Quality Inspections.

  • Reviews and approves hourly payroll time sheets and assigns, records, and maintains overtime distribution log.  

  • Actively participates on a designated pillar team for the Tredegar First Class (TFC) process and process improvement activities and actively works to engage employees in participating on pillar teams and sub-teams.

    Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree desired.

  • 5 years or more in industrial production required. Production Supervisor experience desired.

    Hours of Work:

  • 12 hour shifts (7am – 7 pm or 7pm -7am)  This is an every other weekend off shift schedule
