MTC Emergency Medical Technician in Post, Texas

Overview

Pay: $18 per hour

Work schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts 7am 7pm

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) proudly operates the Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility located in Post, TX. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping offenders gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release .

What youll do: Youll be responsible for administering appropriate medical treatment to inmates in compliance with MTC Medical and customer directives.

Essential functions:

  1. Assess inmate medical conditions and determine appropriate course of treatment.

  2. Provide medical treatment according to nurse or physician instructions and appropriate to level of certification.

  3. Administer appropriate medical treatment including, but is not limited to, applying splints, administering oxygen, treating minor wounds or abrasions, opening and maintaining airways, treatment of shock, assisting inmates with prescribed medications and performing CPR.

  4. Maintain accurate documentation of treatment provided in accordance with policy and regulations.

  5. Respond to medical emergencies at the facility.

  6. Requires long periods of standing and walking and may be required to climb stairs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and successfully pass a background check.

  • Current emergency medical technician license and CPR certification.

  • Experience: One year experience in a hospital, clinic, or correctional setting preferred.

  • A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
