Overview: The primary role of a Customer Service Representatives is providing exceptional customer service and processing transactions for customers purchasing furniture and home appliances. Your primary responsibilities will include handling cash and credit transactions accurately, explaining financing options, and ensuring a seamless checkout experience for all customers. Customer Service Representatives assist the store in obtaining sales and customer service goals by ensuring smooth payment processing. Must be comfortable interacting with customers, vendors and other third parties often spending long periods of time standing.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Customer Service Representative’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver superior customer service as per company standards.

  • Provide face to face assistance to customers through the buying process to include payment, finance options, pick up and deliveries.

  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive and team focused environment.

  • Process cash, credit card, and check transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Verify and reconcile daily cash registers and ensure proper accounting of funds while maintaining security expectations.

  • Handle returns, refunds, and exchanges according to store policies.

  • Follow security procedures to prevent theft and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Maintain awareness of current advertised merchandise and promotions.

  • Route all calls to the intended person and deliver all messages to sales staff in a timely manner.

  • Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.

  • File and maintain the required store reports, ensuring they are completed daily and sent to thecorporate office by the specified dates.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all credit policies, procedures, and government regulations.

  • Ensure all funds are balanced at the beginning of a shift (before taking payments), before a shift ends, any time I leave the register (breaks, lunch, etc.), and when the store closes.

  • Ensure daily cash drops are safely executed and secured per company expectations.

  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier area and ensure it is well-stocked with supplies.

  • Perform all job functions with a high degree of integrity and honesty.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by store management.

Required Experience:

  • Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency

  • Outgoing, engaging, and passionate demeanor willing to interact with customers both in person and over the phone.

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other associates

  • Learn and adapt to current technology systems.

  • Coachable and open to feedback.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.

  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) regular attendance is necessary.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required.

  • Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a retail store environment.

  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, packing, and lifting boxes for shipment, storing inventory, and using tech equipment and computers.
