PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES

Galvion is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of Combat Protective Systems. Individuals are responsible for component sub-assembly, finished helmet assembly, in-line quality assurance, labelling, packaging, palletizing, data entry, scanning and documentation related to the manufacturing of the Galvion family of helmet systems, in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to precisely follow complex directions in order to produce the highest quality product.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

• Work with other areas to coordinate production of Shells and Helmets.

• Interact with Maintenance Personnel to ensure required Preventive Maintenance is performed.

• Personally uphold the standards for safety, work performance, quality, waste and attendance.

• As required, provide coaching, mentoring and counseling of new employees during side-by-side in-line training sessions.

• As required, assist Logistics Specialist with material handling and warehousing, and Materials Specialist with material inventory and material staging.

Process:

• Ability to assemble record and pack helmets.

• Comply with written Work Instructions. Conform to all ISO procedures and requirements. Work to current revision of Work Instruction doucements and standards.

• Knowledge of Part Numbers, Work Order Number identification, and size/style variations associated with Shells and Helmets.

• Operate an adhesive disk taping machine, pneumatic hand tools, computer, photo copier and tape dispensing machine and other general hand-tools.

• Verify chinstrap hole diameter. Install retention hardware, chinstraps and pads.

• Inspect work. Weigh and record helmet production, label, wrap and package helmets.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance:

• Interpret written Work Instructions (WI) and revisions thereof.

• Ensure production documentation is accurate and complete.

• Draw supplies and work from production area. Inspect shells for defects. Ability to identify nonconforming product and remove the defective product, place onto Rework Racks, or into Non-Conformance bins, as needed.

• Knowledge of pallet-jack use.

• Maintain the production area in a neat and orderly fashion, utilizing down time effectively.

• Comply with safety rules involving use, care and disposal of hazardous waste.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.

• Ability to utilize mathematical skills necessary, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

• Attention to detail and meet deadlines.

• Ability to apply common sense to assignments.

• Communication skills to participate in discussions and provide ideas, feedback and suggestions for process improvements.

• Ability to work in a team environment and adjust to changing situations.

• Must be able to prioritize work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to follow established departmental guidelines.

WORK ENVIROMENT (INCLUDE PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS)

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds

  • Hearing, respiratory and eye protection MAY BE required.
