About the Role:

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and inspire our team of backend and frontend engineers, architects, and DevOps specialists working on our user-facing Mobile Video applications for Transit. Your role is critical in driving technical excellence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful product delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Technical Strategy: Define and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for the team, driving innovation and excellence.

  • Project Delivery: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure timely and high-quality releases.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, customer success teams, and stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives.

  • Talent Development: Identify skill gaps, provide training opportunities, and encourage continuous learning and growth within the team.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience: 10+ years of software development experience, including leadership roles.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in:

  • Software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)

  • Team management and performance evaluation.

  • Full stack technical decision-making, build vs buy decisions.

  • Experience with:

  • Object oriented programming languages: Go, C#

  • Relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database technologies

  • Transport protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS and networking technologies.

  • Web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5

  • Experience in cloud environments, event driven microservices architectures including Docker, Kubernetes

  • Implementing DevOps tools and practices

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with:

  • Hiring and scaling engineering teams from scratch

  • Building IoT applications, Video management and streaming systems and/or products for transportation industry

  • Building and scaling AI/ML applications for B2B market
