Systems Engineer- Onsite Position

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Portland, OR

This Systems Engineering position involves leading requirements definition and decomposition across multiple projects for customer driven modifications of existing product or new product development.

This position may require travel to customer sites to support requirements definition, technical interchanges or product integration. Travel to coordinate or oversee qualification tests is also expected when necessary.

Your Challenge:

  • Work with internal and external customers to understand their needs

  • Close interaction with customers, product managers and design staff during development while leading key design review events

  • Prioritizing and execution of development across multiple projects

  • Ensuring Engineering rigor is consistently applied

  • Assist customers in installing, configuring, and using Parvus hardware

  • Create internal and external facing documentation for Parvus software and hardware

  • Define tailored V&V approaches to best verify designs in close coordination with customers. This includes analytical, simulation or test methods.

  • Oversee original or revisions to ICDs, FMEAs, reliability/MTBF predictions, or thermal and mechanical performance margins to ensure compliance with technical requirements.

  • Leverage qualification by similarity rationale when feasible.

  • Define and execute mitigation approaches aligned with project risk assessments.

  • Responsible for definition and coordination of test and integration activity align with defined V&V approaches-This includes teaming with internal SMEs to set up and configure various networking devices and applications for both internal and external use. This includes routers, multi-port Ethernet switches, and mission computers.

Your Expertise:

  • 10+ years experience as a systems or network engineer

  • Experience in the U.S. DoD environment

  • Exposure with network equipment desired. DoD applications preferred

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts such as routing and switching

  • Cross-discipline experience with thermal, mechanical and electrical performance analyses

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal

  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills

  • Experience writing technical reports

  • Able to travel to customer sites with little notice

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must

  • Self-motivated with periodic Engineering leadership interaction

  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
