Robert Half Staff Accountant in Portland, Oregon

Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Staff Accountant with experience in NetSuite to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for a blend of remote work and onsite presence as needed. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in NetSuite and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

This is a 6-month contract position with a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility for remote work and onsite collaboration as needed. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.

  • Analyze financial data and variances, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Prepare and maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and other accounting areas.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to management as needed.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

  • Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software is required.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with month-end close processes and financial analysis.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
