With direction, performs duties as a Coax Splicer as a part of the construction of telecommunications to ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by our customer. Sign-On Bonus is Available.

What you’ll do…

  • Climb utility poles and ability to handle/use a 28-foot ladder.

  • Interprets prints in underground and aerial environment

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work within time constraints

  • Provides accurate daily timekeeping

  • Keeps track of production and hours on daily reports and completing 'as-built' maps for areas built.

  • Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable

  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation

  • Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle

  • Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.

  • Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)

  • Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.

  • Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete \"as-built maps\" for areas built and track daily production

  • Reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts.

  • Frequently work independently

  • Ability to properly use hand tools, ladders, and associated equipment to assist in the completion of assigned projects

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations

  • Other splicing related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Who we are looking for…

+ + Must have knowledge of installation of equipment such as nodes, amplifiers, passives

  • Knowledge of RF, forward and return signal

  • Must be detail oriented and proficient with paperwork

  • Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams

  • Ability to distinguish colors

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work in emergencies, nights and weekends if needed including but not limited to holidays and extending days.

  • Ability to be on-call

  • Inner city traveling required between job sites (company truck)

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
